Kitchen renovations in Cape Town

A kitchen is a plumbing job, an electrical job and a carpentry job in the same room. The order they happen in decides how it turns out.

01Kitchen Renovations

The sequence matters more than the finish

Most kitchen renovations that go wrong were not let down by the cabinets. They were let down by the order of work. A new layout decided after the plumbing was moved. A stone top templated before the cabinets were level. An extractor chosen before anyone checked where the duct could go. Tiling started before the electrical second fix, so the sockets ended up in the wrong place. We plan the sequence before demolition. That means agreeing the layout and the appliance list, marking the services, confirming what can move and what should stay, and writing all of it down. Only then do we strip the room. We work with your design if you have one, and we will tell you honestly when a layout will cost more than it is worth because of where the waste pipe or the distribution board sits. If you do not have a design, we will plan a practical layout with you: working triangle, landing space beside the oven and fridge, and enough counter where you actually prepare food.

04How It Works

How a kitchen runs

1

1. Measure and plan

Room measured, appliances chosen, layout and services agreed, scope written.

2

2. Strip out

Old units and finishes removed, floor and walls exposed, dust contained and a temporary kitchen set up.

3

3. First fix

Plumbing, electrical and extraction roughed in and checked before anything is closed up.

4

4. Fit and finish

Cabinets levelled and fixed, stone templated and fitted, tiling, second fix and appliances.

5

5. Snag and hand over

We walk the room with you and work through the list before the final payment stage.

  • One team for the whole room: Plumbing, electrical, carpentry and tiling sequenced by the same person, not three subcontractors blaming each other.
  • Services checked before closing: We test the water and the circuits while the walls are still open.
  • A usable kitchen during the work: We plan a temporary setup so the family is not eating out for the whole job.
  • Honest about layout costs: If moving the sink costs triple what it gains, we will say so before you decide.
